UPM tops Dow Jones sustainability index

UPM has been listed as a sector leader in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index.

The index includes over 300 companies from 24 countries which Dow Jones considers lead their sectors in terms of "corporate sustainability".

UPM has been in the list for the last three years, but this year secured sector leader status thanks to improved performance in the economic, environmental and social criteria set by Dow Jones.

"The most notable improvement was achieved in the environmental dimension," said a UPM spokesperson. "UPM received the highest possible score in this criterion for advanced environmental management systems."

  UPM was also among the businesses in the pan-European sustainability benchmark listing, the Dow Jones STOXX Sustainability Index. This includes a total of 167 companies from 12 countries.
