Vietnam's exports rise

20 December 2004

Vietnam is on course to hit US$1bn of wood product exports for 2004.

The country's Wood and Forest Association says exports, buoyed by big growth in US, Japanese and EU business, were worth US$946m during the first 11 months.

But Vietnam's domestic wood processing industry has imported US$480m of timber and wood products, a 105% rise on the previous year.
