Weyerhaeuser moves European base to Dublin

19 October 2012

Weyerhaeuser Products Ltd has relocated from Brussels to Dublin, Ireland, in a move to strengthen its Lumin and Lyptus customer sales and marketing support.

The move, which took place on October 1, means all sales administration, marketing operations and customer service will be co-ordinated from its Dublin office in Sandyford.

"From a geographical perspective, Ireland is ideally placed for us to support our pan-European clients," said John Guerin, the company's managing director.

"As an international and cost-effective travel hub, being based in Dublin will make it more efficient to service our European and international client base and our global business network."

Weyerhaeuser Products Ltd is the European sales arm for US company Weyerhaeuser's South American wood products business.

Lumin plywood is made from plantation pine and eucalyptus trees in Uruguay, while Lyptus is a solid wood product harvested from plantation eucalyptus trees. Both products are FSC- and PEFC-certified.

Up to 50% of Lumin and Lyptus production is shipped to Europe.
