Wood Awards launches 2013 competition

4 February 2013

The UK’s leading awards scheme for timber use in architecture and furniture will launch its 2013 call for entries at Ecobuild.

The competition's Ecobuild stand will open with a champagne reception on the first day of Ecobuild on March 5, where people can view all 30 of last year's shortlisted projects, including 2012 Gold Award wnner David Morley Architects' Hurlingham Club outdoor pool.

"The Wood Awards educates, informs and ultimately inspires the use of timber and wood products in an ever-increasing number of applications and designs," said David Hopkins, Wood for Good's head of external affairs.

"With Ecobuild attracting the design and construction industry's most influential professionals, including the largest gathering of architects in the UK, the Wood Awards anticipates a bumper crop of entries for 2013," he said.

The Wood Awards is supported by the American Hardwood Export Council, Canada Wood, the Carpenters' Company, TRADA, American Softwoods and Wood for Good.
