Cameroon timber export marking programme under way
13 May 2013New marks that attest to timber legality are being made on Cameroon wood products being exported to Europe.
The marking is part of Cameroon’s Voluntary Partnership Agreement with the EU to guarantee the legality of the country’s timber exports.
A marking system has been in place for several months and involves EU FLEGT (Forest Law, Enforcement, Governance and Trade) being marked on the wood.
