Dr Peter Bonfield is guest speaker at CTI launch
26 May 2015BRE chief executive Dr Peter Bonfield OBE will be guest speaker at the launch of the Confederation of Timber Industries (CTI) on June 10.
Dr Bonfield’s background includes creating the Olympic Delivery Authority’s sustainable development strategy and taking the lead on the sustainable procurement of construction products.
Former Environment Secretary, Owen Paterson, also asked him to chair Grown in Britain, an initiative aimed at creating a sustainable future for UK woodlands and forests.
Dr Bonfield is chairman of the health, safety and environment committee for the Association for Innovation, Research and Technology Organisations. He is also a vice president and trustee of the Institution of Engineering and Technology Organisations.
Dr Bonfield was awarded an OBE for services to research and innovation in the construction industry in June 2012. The following month he was elected as Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in recognition of his leadership on innovative built environment research.
The CTI is being launched as an independent umbrella organisation to represent the timber supply chain.
