Huw Edwards to host TTJ Awards

30 May 2013

One of Britain’s best known and most popular newscasters, Huw Edwards, will be the host and guest speaker at the 2013 TTJ Awards.

Mr Edwards is a long-term anchor of 10 o’clock TV news and last year he led the commentary team for the spectacular opening ceremony of the London Olympic Games, which was watched by a TV audience of 27 million.

Winner of a BAFTA Award, he was previously a parliamentary correspondent and has interviewed presidents, prime ministers and well-known figures from all areas of public life.

He commentated on Barack Obama’s inauguration, and has also presented major UK state events, from Trooping the Colour to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

He fronted the History of Wales series and has made documentaries on Gladstone and Mozart. He is also a regular public speaker and host at a range of business and other events.

“TTJ prides itself on the calibre of its Awards hosts and I’m sure that Huw Edwards will more than match some of our previous great speakers,” said TTJ editor Mike Jeffree.

“He has had an incredible career in broadcasting and I’m sure he will have some fascinating insight for our Awards audience.”

The TTJ Awards presentation luncheon takes place at London’s Savoy Hotel on September 12. For tickets contact Jennifer Fisher +44 (0) 20 7406 6582, email: jennifer.fisher@timetric.com
