26 November 2019

James Latham has acquired the specialist timber and cladding processor, Dresser Mouldings.

Having enjoyed a long-standing business relationship with Dresser, the move will enable James Latham to increase its offering in processed timber, developing specialist products for the specification market.

Dresser Moulding’s managing director, Bill Gunn and production director, Steve Addison, will continue to manage the business, working closely with Lathams director and group timber director, Andy Duffin, to develop their joint strategies.

Established in 2009 and delivering a variety of innovative solutions for applications across numerous sectors, Dresser specialises in the processing and vacuum coating of bespoke timber products, the production of timber mouldings and other specialist timber machining.

“This is a really exciting development and I am delighted to make this announcement,” said Andrew Wright, Latham’s managing director. “This was a strategic decision which will allow us to develop our existing timber moulding, cladding and timber coatings business.

“It will also enable us to continue to invest in product and business development in what is becoming an important market sector for us, whilst helping to maintain quality control and customer service levels as well as securing our supply line.”
