Malaysian VPA hoped by end of year
1 May 2013A Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA) to ensure legal timber exports from Malaysia to the EU is hoped to be concluded by the end of 2013, according to news agency Bernama.
The target was aired by governmnet representatives during a recent workshop on timber legality assurance in the country.
The Malaysian Timber Legality Assurance System is one of the ways the country is looking to ensure its exports to the EU can continue until the VPA is concluded.
