Masisa to launch “super” MDF in Latin America
3 June 2014Chilean wood-based panel producer Masisa is to launch a modified wood fibre panel throughout Latin America following the extension of an agreement with Tricoya Technologies Ltd (TTL).
Masisa, which has nine panel factories in the Americas, will launch Masisa Tricoya Super MDF throughout Latin America after agreeing to carry out evaluation of Tricoya, including market testing, production testing and development of finished end-products.
During the evaluation phase, Tricoya modified wood fibre will be supplied by Irish panel producer Medite Europe Ltd.
The licence agreement gives Masisa exclusive production and distribution rights for the Latin American market – excluding Brazil – though the sales and marketing rights are non-exclusive.
