TRADA appoints new board members

18 April 2014

Three high-profile names have been appointed to TRADA’s board.

Andy Beaumont has more than 40 years' experience of the timber industry and has spent the last 27 years running his own timber merchant business, Beaumont Forest Products Ltd.

Commenting on his appointment to the TRADA board, Mr Beaumont said: "We hope to provide a hands-on view of the supply of timber to end users: this is where our expertise will be most beneficial. We have been involved in some of London's top projects and to be able to bring our experience of that to TRADA is a fantastic opportunity."

Simon Smith, co-founder of Smith and Wallwork engineers, has been responsible for the delivery of some of the UK's largest engineered timber structures. He has been involved with TRADA for several years and sits on the construction panel of the Grown in Britain campaign. He is also a visiting lecturer at Cambridge University, where he teaches and contributes to timber research.

Nick Milestone, managing director of B&K Structures Ltd, has also joined the board. B&K has been responsible for some high-profile timber structures in the UK, including Marks & Spencer's Cheshire Oaks store and the Scunthorpe Sports Academy.

"I will ensure I make a positive contribution to the continued success of this great association, founded to support and promote the UK timber industry," said Mr Milestone.
