Commercial Manager
15 March 2018Gordon Timber has been in operation since 1862, our core business is converting locally grown roundwood into a comprehensive range of high quality sawn timber products for the fencing, construction and packaging markets. The company’s turnover is in excess of £15m and we employ around 90 people at our site in Nairn.
Due to retirement, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Manager to join our Company. Primarily you will be responsible for leading our Sales Team in marketing our range of sawn and round timber products to a well-established customer base. In addition, you will join our SMT to play an active role in the running and strategic development of Gordon Timber.
Reports to - Joint Managing Director
Key roles and responsibilities -
Liaise with Harvesting and Production to ensure effective supply chain management
Maintain high levels of customer service
Produce, review and deliver sales budget and forecast
Marketing and pro –active selling
Lead and develop sales team
Contribute to running, development and strategy of the Company through SMT role
We are seeking self-motivated, enthusiastic candidates, who possess strong management and commercial experience and would relish the challenge of continuing to improve our successful softwood processing business.
The position offers an excellent salary and benefits. Relocation package may be available to the successful candidate. The role is primarily based in Nairn.
