Dutch wood packaging supplier Faber Halbertsma Group is expanding its IPP Logipal pallet pooling business into the UK.
The company is investing €85m into new subsidiary IPP Logipal UK, with contracts already signed for more than 2.5 million pallet movements within the UK market per year.
Group spokesperson Ingrid Faber said: “As international supply chains become more complex, service, speed reliability and value become more important. With the expansion of our acitivities in the UK, we can now respond better to these international demands as the complete full-service partner for wooden packaging.”
IPP Logipal UK managing director Phil Storer added: “I believe that we are able to provide the quality, service and value that the UK market expects from an international pallet pooling business.”
The group, which has 30 million pallet movements annually, produces 18 million wooden pallets per year and repairs 1.5 million. About 1 million recycled pallets are traded.
