The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) has further enhanced its training and development team with two key appointments. Jason Huddlestone has joined as training, learning and development manager and Marianna Peet is the BMF’s new apprenticeship manager.

Mr Huddlestone has over 20 years’ experience in learning and development having worked in a range of sectors from building supply and housebuilding to financial services and retail for companies including SIG, NHBC and the Vistry Group.  He brings extensive knowledge and expertise in training, talent management, coaching, mental health and H&S to his new role for the BMF.

Ms Peet joins from LEAP Apprenticeships and Early Careers, where she was their early careers lead, focused on empowering young people, sharing opportunities with disadvantaged groups, promoting apprenticeships and networking with the building materials industry.

Ms Peet is an excellent advocate for apprenticeships, having achieved Level 3 Team Leader whilst she was a showroom manager at Benchmarx.  She is now completing a Level 6 Career Development Professional apprenticeship.  She is passionate about the development of young people and will oversee the BMF Ambassador Forum and Women’s Network.  She is also an active member of the BMF Young Merchant Group.

“These appointments will strengthen our resources in support of one of our key strategic themes – enhancing the role we play in helping members to attract, develop and retain talent in the industry,” said John Newcomb, CEO of the BMF.
