First major installation for FireGuard

15 May 2009

JELD-WEN’s 35mm fire door FireGuard has been used in its first major installation – 100 blocks of flats for Gwynedd Council in Wales.

The company said FireGuard proved ideal for the project as it meant existing internal doors could be replaced without the need to change the door frame.

FireGuard was ordered by K&C Construction at the Jewson Buckley branch in North Wales and delivered direct to site by JELD-WEN.

Doors were supplied in a flush ash veneer finish, while flat entrance doors were also upgraded to JELD-WEN’s fire-resistant 44mm FD30 versions in order to comply with Approved Document B.
