New Lantra trees and timber industry manager
11 March 2010Former amenity horticulture lecturer Stuart Phillips has joined Lantra as partnership manager for trees and timber.
Mr Phillips, who has just completed a book on plant folklore, will join the Sector Skills Council for the environmental and land-based industries as maternity cover for Ros Burnley until January 31, 2011.
He has a wealth of experience from his role as a lecturer and consultant in arboriculture and horticulture, examiner for GCSE's in land-based subjects and an external verifier for EdExcel (BTEC).
He will develop the training and skills delivery in the UK’s trees and timber industry. This will include liaising with employers to ensure that Lantra represents their skills and training needs, for example through major consultations on apprenticeships and National Occupational Standards.
