New managing director for Prestoplan
20 February 2013Prestoplan technical director Ian Loughnane has been promoted to managing director. He succeeds John Bedford who has retired.
Mr Loughnane has worked for Prestoplan for 16 years and been a key figure in the development and delivery of systems that have shaped the timber frame industry over the last few years. He has also served on the UK Timber Frame Association board and remains a member of the association's technical committee.
Under Mr Loughnane's technical leadership, Prestoplan has delivered several technical solutions in the past year, including PresRoof and Urban Advantage. The latter, which requires only a 15mm layer of plasterboard to be applied on site to meet Building Regulations, improves fire protection during the construction phase and sound transmission in service.
Prestoplan has also boosted its regional sales team with two appointments. Iain Crabtree will head the company's north-west business development, while Matt Chandler, who joins from Pinewood Structures, will work across east and south-east England.
