Smurfit wins Scotline Grand Prix

2 July 2011

A team from packaging manufacturer Smurfit Kappa emerged victorious at this year’s Scotline Grand Prix.

Glorious sunshine bathed the Bayford Meadow Karting Circuit in Sittingbourne as timber importers, agents, timber frame companies, packaging companies and wood-based panel manufacturers battled it out in a three-hour endurance race.

Kingspan Potton took second place, while third-place Gill & Robinson also completed the fastest lap in 57.35 seconds.

The event, the 15th organised by Scotline, involved teams racing in twin-engined karts capable of 70mph.
