Timber frame company launches joinery division

UK timber frame manufacturing giant Stewart Milne Timber Systems has launched a doorsets and stairs offering in a bid to become a one-stop shop for clients.

Milne, which operates timber frame factories at Witney and Aberdeen with a combined capacity of 12,000 homes, said the diversifcation would ease procurement, meet tight timescales and improve health and safety.

It said stairs could be designed alongside the wall panel systems, guaranteeing measurements and easing on-site fitting, with timber frame erectors able to install the stairs, providing safe access from day one for all follow on trades.

But Milne also said it planned to sell the joinery as stand-alone products.

Door options, for both residential and commercial use, will include standard panel, moulded, flush and glazed options, as well as a bespoke design service tailored for special projects. Stairs will be supplied in various styles and finishes, with options for spindles, posts and handrails.

“Whether our customers want to buy everything from wall panels to floor cassettes and stairs, or simply order doorsets, we have the flexibility to cater to their requirements, supported by master craftsmen and a great supply chain,” said Alex Goodfellow, group managing director of Stewart Milne Timber Systems.
