TTJ webinar updates on markets and unveils TTJ Awards shortlists

27 August 2020

The second of a series of TTJ webinars, “Coming out of Covid: Timber market update” aired on August 10 and concluded with the unveiling of the TTJ Awards 2020 shortlists. The webinar is available on demand.

The webinar was a video discussion involving James Jones & Sons sales manager Keith Ainslie, Ted James, director of South London Timber, Geoff Arnold, managing director of Pinewood Timber Structures, Paul Conboy, director of Beers Timber & Building Supplies and Stephen Powney, TTJ editor.

The panellists looked at supply and demand in different areas of the supply chain, how they are managing impacts from the Covid-19 pandemic and how technology has enabled them to alter the way they conduct business. Covid-19 has accelerated the move to video conferencing by at least five years, for example.

They also discussed what they see as the greatest challenges, predictions on autumn business prospects and spoke about the impact Covid-19 had had on them personally, from suffering from the illness themselves, to wedding postponements.

The webinar concluded with the unveiling of this year’s TTJ Awards 2020 shortlists, which can be viewed on www.ttjonline.com. The TTJ Awards is a virtual event this year and winners will be revealed on September 25.

The webinar is available on demand from Business Review Webinars at Coming out of Covid: Timber market update & TTJ Awards shortlists.
