Two hundred get in touch with TRADA

23 May 2009

Around 200 delegates attended the fifth TRADA In Touch with Timber conference at the QEII Conference Centre in London on May 19.

The strong attendance and the level of sponsorship in the face of economic recession was a good indication that both the merit of the conference and the opportunities that exist for timber design and construction are fully appreciated, said TRADA’s chief executive Andrew Abbott in his opening address.

The conference, which was themed “Innovations in timber”, featured presentations from architect Alison Brooks, Simon Smith, design director at Ramboll UK Ltd, and Mark Sowter, former head of environmental construction at Tesco.

A full report will appear in the June 13/20 issue of TTJ.
