Flanked either side by the much bigger C4000 four-way lift-truck and C5000SL sideloader, the star of Combilift’s stand was the electric version of its compact Combi-CB model – the CBE.
The counterbalance design four-way truck was developed to handle both long lengths and palletised goods, but at 1.5m long, is small enough to work in tight warehouse aisles and even more confined spaces, even inside containers.
According to product support manager Mark Buffham, the electric version makes the CBE more versatile still and is proving increasingly popular.
“There is an additional initial cost over other power options, but effectively you’re investing in your fuel in advance,” he said.
The CBE’s battery will last a shift, then recharges in 8-12 hours.
“Electric power appeals because of its environmental benefits and the rising cost of fuel, and it’s also quiet,” said Mr Buffham.
Originally available with a 2.5-tonne capacity, the CBE is now also available in a 3-tonne variant.
