Dieffenbacher has won its dispute with Metso Panelboard, after the Board of Appeal at the European Patent Office revoked the patent on Metso’s ClassiFormer technology.
The Board of Appeal sided with Dieffenbacher in its claim on the patent on the equipment, which uses roller spreading head technology, declaring that it was void from the outset.
Dieffenbacher is now able to freely market its own roller spreading technology, with the German firm noting that “there are practically no grounds for appeal against this decision”.
