Manchester-based mouldings manufacturer Illingworth Ingham Ltd has invested £250,000 in two Weinig Powermat 1000 moulder and planers.

Illingham said the new machines were producing finished products at a throughput twice that of the previous machines, while also manufacturing finished products thinner at 4mm thick and at a higher quality.

Mill manager Steve Gresty said that the inclusion of the Powerlock and Powercom Plus tool and management systems had increased productivity and ensured that the company was getting maximum efficiency from its manufacturing technology.

Illingham has also invested in a Volvo FLH240 18-tonne curtain-sider to extend its transport offering and “keep machined goods in better condition during delivery”, according to shipping manager Martin Taylor.
