Salvamac is the result of over 20 years of experience of the founding partners, Christian Salvador and Ziemowit Dolkowski, who continue to demonstrate their passion for and deep knowledge of the woodworking machinery sector.

This, together with a continuous review of the market and adapting to circumstances, has allowed the company to not just survive the Covid-19 pandemic, but to thrive and do good business. Adversity has proved to be fertile ground for innovation.

“Our growth has been greater than 50% in recent months and it is a success that we really did not expect,” said Mr Dolkowski, co-founder.

“A success that has not only concerned traditional and already consolidated products but the entire production range and which has led us to the creation of something greater: Salvamac Group.” “I have always considered change as a fundamental evolutionary moment”, added Christian Salvador, co-founder. “Even when a moment seems negative, it is actually a great opportunity for growth.

“We know that the times we live in are not easy, but we are convinced that the spirit of sacrifice combined with ethics and human relationships may be the only solution. With this corporate and personal philosophy, innovation finds continuous space for new ideas, products and production systems. Innovate, innovate, innovate!

“Salvamac strongly believes in the future, in true values and in continuous progression,” added Mr Salvador.

Salvamac’s leading optimising saw is the Salvapush 2000, an automatic crosscutting saw that is presented with a brand new version of software that allows anyone to manage it simply and completely like a smartphone, with website graphics and all the practicalities of a large touchscreen for setting data, in digital communication among all electronic components.

Not only that, the recent developments in bar code data import and the relative just-in-time management systems (from the development of the customer’s order to the finished product) make it a unique solution on the market for production processes even in single batches, said Mr Salvador.

Very flexible and cutting edge technical solutions make it possible to communicate both upstream and downstream with company software management, thus creating the fundamental principles of Industry 4.0. The new exclusive mechanical solutions are also present for both the cutting system and the pusher system – solutions that are showing all their potential and flexibility at the customers’ facilities. Salvamac is not just about optimising saws, however, and continuous research and development in the most traditional machines has also brought about innovative solutions.

The evolution of Salvamac upcut saws now offers an optional automatic retracting front protection guard. The innovative new system has been created to facilitate the handling of the pieces before and after cutting without having to manage the workpiece on the infeed and outfeed table. The front protection of the Classic cross-cutting saws series can disappear during the loading and unloading operations (position down) and can rise (position up) only during the cutting operation. This provides maximum help for the operator and maximum safety.

Among the original Salvamac portfolio of equipment is the Salvastop measuring stop device, a system that electronically manages the stopping and positioning of the boards or profiles to be cut, regardless of the material, with high speed and absolute precision, thanks to a state-of-the-art brushless electronic motor. Furthermore, the mechanical system has been designed not to require maintenance over time, while ensuring a high degree of robustness and precision.

The new innovation on the aluminium beam allows the Salvastop to increase up to 7000mm of length and 6400mm of stroke. Due to an innovative technological concept Salvamac has created a new anodized aluminium beam – section 100mm×100mm – reinforced and with large thickness of the profile edge. Thanks to the considerable dimensions of this solution, the pusher carriage reaches a movement speed of up to 60m/min. The transmission system has a 32mm-wide toothed belt, with high precision internal steel cables, ensuring a wide capacity and a very high positioning tolerance. The machined steel heads are robust and independent, designed to have a long life and to be highly reliable and precise.

“We have worked hard to create the exclusive software,” said Mr Dolkowski. “It is very easy to use thanks to an immediately understandable and effective, complete, powerful and flexible graphics. It includes five different sections and two different modes – ‘STOP’ or ‘PUSH’. It uses an S-PAD touchscreen in an excellent position for reading and programming. And the internet tele-service software is included and installed.

“The compact Servo Drive electronic motor guarantees simplicity, reliability, durability and efficiency,” continued Mr Dolkowski. “With this innovative technology you can manage closed loop positioning, checking the position at any time, even in case of heavy effort and accidental external pressure.”

The motor, that is mounted in pulling position, has a power of 11Nm and the electrical and electronic inputs and outputs are integrated on the engine itself. Finally, the emergency and start buttons are ergonomically positioned, to facilitate the operator’s work.

“Our network and its strength will allow us to introduce new products for the solid wood industry every month,” said Mr Salvador. “High-quality machines, as in our history, but at a price that allows more companies to choose the technological path.

“The strategy is clear: to optimise the process and use every possible ‘country advantage’ to produce machines with the highest quality and affordable prices for the customer. This is the reason for choosing the Salvamac brand: machines that are simple to use and with which it is easier to cut costs and increase profits. A true network creation that gives the missing added value to our customers and to the whole wood industry. We are ready for the new challenge.”
