PTG Treatments has opened its seventh treatment centre at Cumbernauld, Scotland.
The six-and-a-half acre site was purchased in the summer from the administrators of East End Sawmills Ltd and the facilities, including two treatment vessels, undercover storage and a processing area, have been refurbished prior to opening.
Neil Ryan, managing director of PTG Treatments, said the centre’s location between Edinburgh and Glasgow was ideally placed to serve existing and new customers in Scotland.
“Until now we have only been able to offer low-pressure treatment at our existing sites in Perth and Rosyth,” he said.
“We are now able to offer high-pressure treatment for the fencing, construction and decking markets.”
Mr Ryan said the facility allows treatment to a 15-year service life warranty for US Class 4 timbers.
PTG has plans to install further treatment plants and kilns at the site, as well as expanding the range of treatment services available.
“The range of preservation and flame retardant treatments has expanded in the last few years and we are
increasingly concentrating on specialist types of treatment that often require significant investment and cannot be justified by individual customers,” Mr Ryan said.
