A new Q-Clad pre-finished cladding brand was unveiled at Ecobuild by Hoppings.
Adam Pulfer, the company’s marketing director, said while Hoppings had always offered a traditional unrebated Essex barn featheredge cladding product, the new rebated Finnish product was designed to take on established high performance rivals such as Cape Cod but at a cheaper price.
The PEFC-certified product is given a two-coat paint finish immediately after processing (fine sawn finish) and features a stain blocker to stop resin leaching. A 10-year warranty against rot and insect attack is offered.
Also new is Deck R, a hollow profile composite decking product featuring a recycled rigid PVC structure with wood-polymer composite top layer. It comes with a 25-year warranty.
“I think it will do well,” said Mr Pulfer. “We know there is a market for composites despite them being twice the price of standard softwood decking.”
Hoppings is also offering a retro-fit decking grip insert solution which allows fitters to add grip inserts to decking grooves.
