The unofficial motto on the Arnold Laver Timber World stand at Interbuild was “every splinter certified”.

The company highlighted the range of timber products that can now be supplied with environmental certification, with its stand displaying not just the products themselves but also the logos of the certification schemes it works with: the FSC, PEFC, CSA, SFI and MTCC. It also promoted its membership of The Timber Trade Federation‘s Responsible Purchasing Policy (RPP).

“We want to get over to the architect and specifier the range of certified timber products now available under the various schemes,” said group purchasing director Pat Burke. “On our stand, every item is certified; FSC Siberian larch, CSA western red cedar, SFI Douglas fir, PEFC laminate flooring and MTCC plywood.”

Another focus on the stand was shingles and cladding, with Smartside OSB cladding attracting interest from architects.

“Often at exhibitions its either about the quantity or the quality of visitors,” said Mr Burke. “Here we’ve got both.”
