About £3,000 collected at the Timber Trades’ Benevolent Society‘s (TTBS) Cardiff ball helped ex-timber industry pensioners enjoy a more comfortable Christmas.

Part of the money was used for Christmas hampers, while some will also be used to pay for annual TV licences and household bills.

TTBS South Wales chairman Dilwyn Howells, director at Premier Forest Products Ltd, said: “It’s nice to be able to assist those ex-employees who genuinely need it, as it is their hard work that made the timber industry in Wales and the south-west successful.”
