Woodsource Wales, a marketing initiative by the Welsh Assembly and Forestry Commission Wales, took a stand in the Timber Works area and enjoyed a high level of enquiries, according to business development manager Frankie Owen.
“Enquiries have ranged from domestic to commercial projects and for timber frame and everything that goes with that – we’ll now pass that business around to our members.
Woodsource Wales works to raise the profile of the Welsh timber and wood products sector and works with around 80 companies, from joinery and flooring to timber frame manufacturers.
A new initiative, WoodFuel Wales was also being promoted on the stand. Representing everyone in the wood fuel business, “from suppliers to chimney sweeps”, one of its aims is to create a wood fuel quality certification scheme in Wales.
