The protestors, who climbed a set of cranes at the French port of La Rochelle to stop the logs being offloaded, claimed the company has been logging using contracts issued after the moratorium came into force in 2002 and that the timber on the ship was part of a haul of illegally felled tropical timber coming into Europe.

The blockade came to an end after 45 hours when the protestors were forced off the cranes by port officials.
