The one-day event, “21st Century Timber Windows” takes place at LSO St Luke’s Hall in London on May 16 and will be chaired by Ruth Slavid, editor of AJ Specification.
The aim, said BWF chief executive, Richard Lambert was to “highlight the sustainability of timber windows in the context of government initiatives, such as the Code for Sustainable Homes and changes to Part L of the Building Regulations”.
Speakers will include a “leading architect”, research experts from the BRE and representatives of the public and private sectors. The event will also be used to unveil new timber window life cycle assessment studies.
“This is going to be a high-profile event, bringing together all the powerful evidence we have compiled to demonstrate that timber windows are the best environmental choice and why,” said Mr Lambert.
