The new interactive course, held at BM TRADA’s High Wycombe headquarters, was an introduction to softwoods, covering common species, sizes, grades, preservation, handling and quality.
“We were delighted with the level of attendance for this session but perhaps more with the level of engagement of delegates," said TRADA membership and marketing manager Rupert Scott.
“This new initiative is a back-to-basics approach, using knowledgeable speakers who can really engage with the audience. It is designed to help deliver that knowledge in a practical way that attendees can take back to the workplace."
Five further courses, run in conjunction with TRADA, are scheduled. The next takes place in Coventry on November 13 and subsequent sessions will be held on December 4, Januay 16, February 12 and March 14 at locations around the UK.
The half-day course costs £99. TRADA members are offered a free voucher system, depending on the level of membership, and a reduced rate of £74 for every extra person.
