Following the revision, each timber building element certified under the three schemes will earn three EcoHomes points. Previously SFI-certified products were only worth two.

The PEFC certification scheme remains on two points per building element, because, says the BRE, of its “comparatively looser” stipulations on social criteria and the consultation processes with local communities required of forest management companies or owners.

Under the revised EcoHomes scheme, MTCC-certification remains on one point per timber construction element.
