Canfor announced it would temporarily curtail operations at its BC sawmills, effective from April 29 and Interfor followed suit, saying it would reduce operations at its three BC interior mills in May.
Canfor, which has 12 mills in BC, says its production output would be reduced by about 100 million board feet.
Interfor, which has three mills in BC, says it expects production at the affected mills to be cut by about 20 million board feet in May.
