China dominated the Canadian softwood lumber export market for the third consecutive year in 2010, according to Random Lengths International.
Canada’s exports to China topped 1.9 billion board feet – a 78% improvement on 2009 which, itself, was a record year.
Other notable export markets for Canadian softwood last year were Japan (1.1 billion board feet, up 24% on 2009), Taiwan and the Middle East.
Total Canadian exports hit 3.9 billion board feet last year, up 42% on 2009.
