CR Taylor (Timber) Ltd is celebrating 25 years of sponsoring grassroots cricket in West Yorkshire with the formation of its own social team.

The 47-year-old family-owned timber merchant has been supporting cricket development at the Denholme CC as well as Otley and Ilkley’s cricket clubs.

The firm’s links with the game are strong, with Gloucestershire’s Ian Fisher, son of Taylor’s Bradford branch manager Geoff, already making progress in the professional game after coming through the ranks at Denholme.

The new team, known as the Timberwolves, has played one social match and is planning to introduce a six or seven match fixture list for 2008.

Sales director Charles Taylor said the company has always been a keen sponsor of the local community and liked to think its involvement with the three clubs had contributed to their success on and off the field.
