CR Taylor Timber has promoted Emma Newton from financial director to managing director.
Ms Newton joined the West Yorkshire timber firm in June 2009. After completing a BA (Hons) in business and financial economics at Staffordshire University she qualified as an accountant and associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. She worked in the regional textile industry with the Shipley-based Jerome Group, then spent eight years as financial controller with Woolbro (Distributors) in Bradford.
As part of her managing director’s role, Ms Newton will lead CR Taylor’s commitment to gain Investors in People recognition.
Her promotion is also designed to free up more time for executive chairman Charles Taylor to focus on sales, service and direct customer contact.
