The current development boom in Bradford has resulted in record sales for CR Taylor.

In response to the fast-expanding business activity the company has invested £10,000 upgrading its Thornton Road branch.

The on-site showroom has trebled in size and the office accommodation has been extended. A new computerised stock system has been installed, the yard frontage has been re-signed and additional transport has been acquired for regional deliveries.

New jobs have also been created and the workforce has increased by 50% to 12 people.

Sales director Charles Taylor said: “Our sales figures at Thornton Road are running at an all time high, with turnover up significantly on last year.

“Bradford is on the up and up and our business activity has increased significantly as a direct result. We are supplying a great deal of timber and associated products for large-scale redevelopment work that is taking place across the region, particularly for the rejuvenation of local mills.”

Mr Taylor said the Thornton Road customer base had increased year-on-year, both among major accounts and smaller local traders, and the DIY business was also going from strength to strength.

The Bradford depot complements CR Taylor’s main head office yard operation in nearby Denholme, where a £250,000 investment programme is currently taking place to virtually double the size of the offices.

The project, due for completion early in the new year, is again in response to growing demand for the company’s products across the board.
