Douglas Johnston, managing director of DLH Timber (UK), said the purchase gave the company a stronger presence in temperate and tropical hardwood sales, particularly within the UK and Ireland.
He said it would also enable the Craig Group to focus more of its efforts on its growing and successful US operation in Memphis.
“The five-member team at Alan Thomas Craig Ltd will continue to be based in Liverpool and will operate as ‘DLH Timber (UK) Ltd trading as Alan Thomas Craig’,” Mr Johnston said.
“DLH will honour and fulfil all outstanding contracts of Alan Thomas Craig Ltd and looks forward to growing the business using the substantial support of the DLH Group.”
