The Egger Group has acquired a 65% stake in Kromaplast, an edging specialist based in Cessalto, Veneto, as part of its plan to widen service capabilities within the European edging sector.
The transaction, completed on 30 September 2026, follows a recent move by Egger to acquire a minority stake in Chinese edgebanding manufacturer Sinowolf.
The purchase price and additional details of the Kromaplast deal have not been disclosed.
Kromaplast, established in 1990, is recognised for providing the Italian furniture industry with a service and logistics platform focused on edging products.
The company’s operations cover further processing, packaging, size-cutting and delivery of edging solutions.
As a result of the transaction, Kromaplast now acts as a service hub for Egger, which already operates edging production facilities in Gebze, Turkey and Brilon, Germany.
Egger said the acquisition represents a strategic opportunity to enhance its customer service and increase logistical availability in one of Europe’s key furniture markets.
Egger decorative products components finance/administration division director Tobias Neumann said: “With our specialised edging plant in Gebze (TR) and our site in Brilon (DE), we have two edging-producing plants within the Egger Group.
“In Kromaplast, we have found a partner with whom we can make our edging service even more customer-oriented and flexible in one of Europe’s most important furniture markets. We are very much looking forward to working with the entire team.”
Francesco Lorenzon, previously a shareholder and the managing director of Kromaplast, will continue to oversee operations.
All 21 employees of Kromaplast are expected to remain with the company, and existing customer contact and service processes will stay in place.
Prior to this, Egger had signed an agreement to acquire a 30% minority share in Sinowolf, a Chinese edge banding manufacturer.
Egger said this partnership is intended to build further on the international edging business, with Sinowolf persisting as an independently managed brand.
