A £5m investment for the company, the new builders’ merchant and Living Spaces showroom has been well received by the local building community. Proving particularly popular is the drive-through warehouse, a first for the region.

“To have a builder’s merchant branch in Lymington has been our dream for a long time and we are delighted to have finally made this a reality,” said Tom Elliott, managing director. “Across our new two-acre site, we are now able to offer our customers more than £1m of building materials, making this branch the largest and most highly stocked merchant in the area.”

Existing customers and suppliers involved in the build were invited to a special celebratory evening, thanking them for their patronage. More than 70 guests gathered to see the town mayor and The Repair Shop’s ‘teddy bear ladies’ cut the ribbon to officially declare the new branch open.

To mark the opening within the community, the company hosted ‘Tradies Week’ for local DIYs and homebuilders. Hundreds of customers were welcomed through the door during this week-long event to win prizes, enjoy complimentary refreshments and browse the latest tools.

“Our team has received a warm welcome from the Lymington community, and we are excited to build on this relationship over the coming months,” said Mr Elliott.

The company has created a new team of 14, with an additional apprentice, to ensure the new branch provides its clientele with the consistent customer service and wealth of industry expertise it has become renowned for in over 180 years of trading.

“It has been great to see our customers wholly embracing the ease of our new drive through warehouse,” said Mr Elliott. Vehicles can drive through the warehouse at Ricardo Way, Ampress Park and park next to the products, cutting the time to pick and load, all whilst undercover.

The upper floor of the new branch boasts Elliotts Living Spaces’ largest showroom featuring 23 bathroom and 13 kitchen displays. There is extensive choice for all budgets from well-known brands Laura Ashley, Stoneham, Neff, Crosswater, Laufen and Roper Rhodes, plus accessible kitchen and bathroom options by leading supplier, Symphony.

Lymington is one of 13 Elliotts builders’ merchants branches across the south with other nearby stores in Christchurch, Ringwood, Totton, and Southampton.
