Key players from the European wood-based panel sector gather in Brussels on November 22 for a conference entitled “Wood: The key to sustainable socio-economic development” .
Hosted by the European Panel Federation and CEI-Bois organisation, the event will include presentations from a member of the European parliament and one of the leading environmental NGOs.
The French ministry for construction will address the issue of national action to support wider use of timber and Professor Arno Frühwald of the Hamburg Institute of Wood Physics will discuss the “enhanced use of wood for exterior and interior applications”.
A plenary session will be led by Mike Botting, editor of TTJ’s sister magazine Wood Based Panels International, and the event will also be addressed by MEP Paul Rübig, EPF president Ladislaus Döry and Hans Michael Offner, president of the European Organisation of the Sawmill Industry.
