A fire at an Australian sawmill has caused more than A$1m damage and destroyed valuable export timber.
The blaze at Hyne Timber’s Melawandi plant, north of Brisbane, destroyed an old sawmill used as a storage shed containing kiln-dried hoop pine and high quality processed timber, worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. The wood was bound for Japan, Taiwan and China.
