The latest development is part of an expansion in size and the range of activities at Braviken, which opened in 2011 as a spruce sawmill but expanded to cut pine last year. Decking and outdoor joists were added to the portfolio.

“We want to offer our customers a broader range and the wood treatment plant is a natural next step,” said Johan Padel, CEO of Holmen Timber.

“The plant will be highly automated, with scope for further development in the future.”

The wood treatment plant is scheduled to be up and running from winter 2016/2017.
