The upbeat reception of international wood-related trade shows continued with Holz-Handwerk and fensterbau/frontale recording increased visitor numbers of 102,881 and 1,270 exhibitors.
It follows on from the successes of ZOW in Bad Salzuflen, Domotex Asia in Shanghai and MosBuild in Moscow, as well as pre-empting the record numbers expected at Xylexpo and Domotex Middle East.
The dual German exhibition in Nuremburg is designed for carpenters, joiners, furnishing consultants, architects and interior designers.
The increase in exhibitor and visitor numbers at Holz-Handwerk and fensterbau/frontale went hand-in-hand with an upturn in mood, with over 40% of exhibitors and half of visitors to Holz-Handwerk saying they expect an increase in business.
“The fact that things are going so well again in Germany is an excellent indication for the domestic economy,” said Dr Bernhard Dirr, general manager of Holz-Handwerk organiser Fachverband Holzbearbeitungsmaschinen im VDMA.
“The mood was 100% better than at the exhibition two years ago,” added Konrad Steininger, president of show co-sponsor Fachverband Schreinerhandwerk Bayern.
