The shell of a detached three-storey 2,600ft2 house was built in just 16 days in a trial carried out by Avada Country Homes.
The company was seeking to speed up build time and cut labour costs and worked with a number of key manufacturers to build the house, called The Parsonage, alongside a development of high specification barn conversions in record time.
Boise Cascade won the £2,200 contract to supply 241mm deep BCI joists of various widths to construct the first and second floors of The Parsonage and Versa-Lam beams for the stairwell openings.
