An innovative house design concept that simplifies the build process and minimises energy consumption and environmental impact uses Excel Building Solutions‘ EVT Technology in its construction.

The first use of the concept, devised by architect Gn2 Design, was a five-bedroom, 300m2 contemporary house in Essex but it is now to be developed to create homes for the affordable housing market.

The structure is based on a glulam post and beam frame which supports the entire weight of the house so avoiding the need for internal load-bearing walls.

Excel EVT panels insulated with Warmcel 500 high performance insulation are used to create the entire external envelope of the building and the panels are completed with Panelvent external sheathing and plasterboard on the internal face.

Externally, the Essex house is finished in a combination of white render and oak cladding.
