An internet retailer of joinery products has been named Midlands Entrepreneur of the Year 2009.

Duncan Williams, managing director of ejoinery Ltd, was given the prize at the Midlands Business Awards held at the Hilton Metropole Hotel, Birmingham NEC in a ceremony attended by former CBI chief Lord Digby Jones.

Mr Williams said afterwards that the award “meant a great deal” to him and his team, and that Lord Jones was his role model in business.

The company’s rapid growth in a depressed market attracted the attention of the Midlands business community, resulting in him being nominated for the award.

Based in Coleshill, with a national distribution centre in Tipton, ejoinery sells wooden French doors and windows over the internet.
