New Ash Green-based Panel Agency was contracted to replace MDF acoustic panels that did not meet Russian fire requirements
Panel Agency, distribution partner for Finland’s Puucomp AB, was required to supply panels for the living quarters on the platform, to be used for one of the major offshore oil and gas development projects in Russia.
The 12mm painted panels, featuring acoustic perforations and a black felt backing for sound absorption, had to meet Russian fire regulations, equivalent to A2 European fire classification.
Though destined for Russia, the oil platform was initially located in South Korea, requiring Panel Agency to arrange the moving of four tonnes of material via air freight from Helsinki to Gimhae Airport, in the South Korean city of Busan.
The whole process, from order to delivery, took just five weeks.
